What do I need to learning English?

Hello, my name is Abel Ivan Guerra. I am 30 years old, I am from Sincelejo Sucre, but I live in Coveñas, a town in the territory of Sucre as well.  I am a lawyer, and nowadays I am taking a post-degree in State Contracting at the Sinú University. As a part of the program, I must study English, and I have wondered why. Therefore, I started to find out why it is important to learn English as a law and state contracting professional.

First, I need to study English because this language is considered the language for international communication, and the language of business, its learning is fundamental in all educational settings, which is why more and more people need to develop communication skills to understand, read, speak, and write in English. Currently, people who know more than one language and know how to use ICT have more opportunities to succeed as a professional.

Second, as a professional of law, I need to be a user of this language to have access to documents regarding international law. Moreover, managing this language is necessary not only in the contractual field but also in the research scenarios established by the National Minister of Science Technology and Innovation, (MINCIENCIAS).

Finally, I know that the course design will create a space for developing my communicative skills not only to learn English for a specific purpose to exchange and understand information related to the field of my study but also to acquire the competencies that allow me to interact with people in any context where this language is required.
