Women's Day

Women’s Day

“Women are the center of the universe; in their bellies human’s life begins, everybody was born from a woman. They have the same right of man. They’re not the weak sex. They are stronger than everybody thinks, if you think they are not, you are wrong; you should try to carry a baby in your belly; when world are at war women take care of their families”. I would like to think "these are the reason people celebrate women’s day". But, there are more reasons: Women from around the world have fought to get their economic, political and social achievements.

International Women's Day was called International Working Women’s Day initially; it is celebrated in many countries on March 8 every year. In some countries people remember women fights to get respect, in other regions; people just express their love for women.

Women have fought for their rights along the history: In antique Greece women started a sexual strike to force men to stop a war. In the XIX century they started a global movement to get a better position in their society.

The first national Women's Day was celebrated on February 28, 1909 in the United States following a declaration by the Socialist Party of America. This was just the beginning of an international movement:

in Austria, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, Russia women paraded on the streets carrying banners and honoring the martyr women around the world and promoting equal rights, including suffrage, for women and to hold public office. They also protested against employment and sex discrimination.

Today there are a lot of women around the world that fight against the world to have a better statues. Anyway, I invite you to dedicate everyday of life to honor women.
