Montería
Montería is the capital of Córdoba Department. It is also considered the most important cattle city in Colombia. Montería was founded on May 1st, 1777 by Antonio de la Torre y Miranda who transferred the city from the place called Monterías to the place where the city is located today. The first name of the city was San Jerónimo de Buenavista. Some years later the city is named San Jerónimo de Montería to remember the first place where the city was founded (Monterías: place where hunters meet to hunt.)
But, the city has changed a lot from that time. Today natives and visitors can see a city that is developing so fast. People from Montería have to feel so proud of the city where they were born.
Popular Festivals:
The most important festival in Montería is the Livestock Farming Festival which is celebrated in june every year. The are two beutity contests in the Festival. The Livestock Farming National Reign and The Livestock Farming International


SAHAGUN

Sahagún is the town where I was born. For several reasons It is called the cultural city of Cordoba. First it is clean, organize and beautiful. Second, Sahagún has a high standard of education. Third, people from Sahagún are very nice and polite. Finally, each neighborhood has a school a park and a medic center.

My hometown is famous for its people. It is one of the few towns in Colombia which has had three senators in just one government period. Besides, there are important painters writes and all kind of people who put its name in a high level in Colombia and around the world.

There is an old legend which is told by grandfathers and grandmothers. They say that people who drink water from “El Cabro” or “La Agua” which are natural water fountain will stay in Sahagún forever, maybe it is true , because people who visit Sahagún don’t want to leave it.

Moreover Sahagún has beautiful landscapes, due to it is located in the valley of Cordoba. El Cabro, Los Sanjones, La Agua and The Ecological Park are some of its most amazing natural features and of course its culture is wonderful. As a result Sahagún is a wonderful place to visit and live.

My daily Routine
