Once upon a time
there was a girl who lived in a little house next to the Sinú River. The girl
learned from her parents that swimming in the river is good. It helps to relax
and to keep people’s body in shape. She learned that swimming there is an exciting
experience of life and an old grandparents’ custom. So she did it every day.
One day when she
was swimming she met a boy who smiled at her and asked:
Would you mind swimming
with me? She got out of the river immediately and left the place. But, anyway
she was not rude with the boy. She just said she had to go home. Next day, when
the girl arrived at the river she found the boy. He was swimming and she waited
for a long time until he got out of the river.
But the boy did not
come out. The girl was sad because she did not bathe in the river. Next morning
when she was buying food the boy met her and apologized. He said he was the store
owner’s child. A great friendship began from that time. As children got along
really well. The girl said: now that we are friends and I know who you are and where
you live, we can go swimming in the river and go out sometimes.
In the afternoon
the boy and the girl went swimming in the river, they were playing and having a
great time when suddenly the girl started to cry without any apparent reason.
The boy asked:
_ What’s the matter
with you?
_ Today is my
mother’s birthday. I am sad because I could not buy a present for her, said the
girl.
_ Don’t cry baby this problem can be solved.
Suddenly, a great idea came to mind: Not all presents have to be bought. A
present can be a poem, a song, a love kiss or something made by your hands.
Let’s create a beautiful gift from recycle materials.
- “What is that?” asked the girl.
The boy said that
recycling is to take something used to make something new. It is also a way to
stop pollution and make money.- “What is that?” asked the girl.
The children started to work immediately. They made a beautiful vase of flowers with some cans and some bike spokes.
The girl’s mother received the present and was proud of her daughter’s creativity. She said it was her best birthday and the best present she had received.
