     My best friend



I am a funny person. But, who really knows how to get fun is my best friend Carlos. When we were in High School we used to spend hour at the Cafeteria, Carlos always  had a joke to tell. Holly week

Holly week is a time to reflect about our behavior. It’s a time to be close to God. It’s a time to pray. In my last Holly week I went to El Señor de los Milagros Church on Thursday and on Friday. But, on Saturday morning I was with my family in Coveñas. We really enjoy the time swimming and playing water games in the sea. We come back on Sunday afternoon. All my family went to vigil to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection.

Santa Marta

Santa Marta is a Tourist, Cultural and Historic Colombian city; it is the capital of the Department of Magdalena and third major urban center of the Caribbean Region. It was Founded on July 29th, 1526 by the Spanish conqueror Rodrigo de Bastidas[1], It is the oldest existing city in Colombia and the second oldest in Sudamérica.

Santa Marta is an attractive tourist destination. It has many interesting places to visit:

1.     Take a tour to Sierra nevada de Santa Marta,  is a magical destination, and the land of The Aruacos Tribe. It is the highest elevation near the sea, independent of the Andes mountain range.

2.     Swim and enjoy the Rodadero Beach, one of the most beautiful beach in Colombia.

3.     As beautiful as Rodadero Beach are the Taganga Beach.

4.     Other touristic place is the Tirona Park; it has nice bays and beaches.  

5.     Who visit Santa Marta should go to Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, the place where Simón Bolívar died. (Simón Bolívar was the Liberator of Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Perú)

Last weekend I lived a wonderful experience. I traveled with my family to Rosarios Island. While I was playing soccer on the beach my children were swimming in the sea. My wife was reading a book when she saw a light in the sky. Suddenly, it was getting bigger and bigger. It was an airplane. Some soldier left the airplane in parachutes. It was a great spectacle.

I am a good eater, so my favorite Holyday is Easter. In this time I can eat delicious food all the time.

This dish is made by my mother. She is a good cook. The revo’tillo is made with eggs and a special fish called moncholo. People add salt, garlic, and other ingredients. I really like this special dish.

I can eat my favorite salad in Holly Week too:



This salad is made with carrot, onions, beet and mayonnaise, my mother cook the vegetables, when they are well cooked, she cut them in small squares and adds the mayonnaise.  It tastes delicious.

Talking about drinks I can enjoy a typical drink from my region in this time. I’m talking about chicha.



This drink is made with corn, sugar, and a seed called clavitos and pepper.  These seeds give to the drink a hot flavor.

There are other delicious foods that I can drink in this holyday and everybody should try:

Cheese soup



It is made with cheese, yam, spinach and water. My mother cook the yam with a lot of water, a little salt and add the  cheese and the spinach at the end.

I can enjoy bagre soup. It is made with a kind of fish from my region.
