Contest Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert
Questions:
1. Why do you consider yourself to be a Microsoft
Innovative Educator Expert?
I consider myself to be a Microsoft Innovative
Educator Expert because in my classes I use a range of tools created by
Microsoft to facilitate the teaching learning process. We are studying how to
use outlook.com, onedrive, office, sky, Xbox, bing, MSN, store and other
Microsoft tools to have a better succeed English learning process. Moreover, in
the project “English and ICT as an opportunity to form global citizens, as well
as in the proposal I know my city, its history culture and society and in
others works that I develop with my students the use of Microsoft technology
has been really important to succeed. It helps me to motivate my pupils to
learn and at the same time to encourage them to build knowledge, do
collaborative work and develop their critical thinking. I work with synchronous
tools and asynchronous tool as e-mails and blogs to teach and share information
not only in the classroom, even outside of it. In order to describe and
illustrate how I can do this, I will talk about a project in which my learners
are working now, its name is: I know my city, its history, culture and society,
the proposal is a school scenery which takes into account the theories of
contextual learning to develop reading skills and text production in native language
and in English. In the English classes and through interviews to the community
members, consulting in books and on the web, students read and write in English
and Spanish about Monteria's, history, culture and society. The objective of
the project is to write an e-book, it will serve as educational tool to teach
and learn about Montería City. Therefore, a lesson plan to continue working in
the project could be:

3. How do you think being an MIE Expert will impact your
teaching?
In
my point of view being an MIE Expert will impact my teaching, since it will
give me more opportunities to be trained in the use of the most innovative
Micrisoft Tools to improve the teaching learning process. Moreover, I will have
the chance to socialize my projects with colleagues from all over the world as
well as learn from their experiences. Therefore, I want to get the prize and
recognition and the benefits that Microsoft offer to teachers through this
contest:
- Opportunities for professional development and certification.
- Share my experience with educators and renowned specialists.
- Participate in focus groups that provide information to product development teams of Microsoft.
- Try new products Microsoft in beta.
- Collaborate with innovative educators around the world through Skype in the classroom.
- Becoming a regional host in the events that show the Microsoft technology in the classroom.
It’ is important to say that I use ICT as much as I
can. I say to my students that people who speak English and use technology
properly have the doors of the world opens and more opportunities that those
who don’t do it.
Equally important is to relate some links to access to
some blogs and videos as evidence of my work and projects that I have designed
and implemented in the school.
